The Presidency answers your questions - Regional integration

Focus — Friday, June 24, 2016

Once again, turnout was high for this participatory dialogue sessions, during which citizens were able to ask their questions about regional integration, in the same vein as the ECOWAS Summit that took place in Dakar, on 4 June.

Several questions were asked about integration policy issues, like that submitted by "Beuguesamarew Sunugal":

We were also asked about the outlook for economic prosperity that enables regional integration:

Again in the economic field, Mr Mbacke Gueye asked us about the implementation of the Common Foreign Tariff.

Another topic that stirred many questions was security in the ECOWAS zone. Mr. Mar Diaw, for instance, asked about measures taken as part of the fight against terrorism.

Lastly, many questions were raised about the new ECOWAS Biometric ID card, soon to come.

You can find more information about issues in regional integration on our site and, in particular, brief video presentations from ECOWAS and UEMOA:

We look forward to seeing you next month, for another session of “The Presidency answers your questions”.
