Working Visit to The Gambia: President Bassirou Diomaye Faye Holds Talks with His Counterpart Adama Barrow

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, was received this Saturday, May 30, in Banjul by his Gambian counterpart, His Excellency Adama Barrow, as part of a working visit focused on strengthening cooperation between Senegal and The Gambia.

Between Dakar and Banjul, proximity is not merely geographical. It is rooted in a deep historical, human, and cultural relationship, sustained by bonds of fraternity and solidarity that this visit has further strengthened.



The two Heads of State conducted a thorough review of bilateral relations, with the aim of reinforcing them across all areas of common interest. Their discussions also addressed regional issues, in a context marked by persistent challenges to peace, security, and stability in West Africa.

The leaders also discussed the international situation, characterized by heightened geopolitical tensions, particularly in Europe and the Middle East, whose repercussions are being felt across the African continent. This shared assessment underscored the need for stronger coordination and enhanced solidarity among African states in addressing global challenges.
