On Friday, January 17, 2025, the President of the Republic welcomed his counterpart, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, for a working visit. The two Heads of State emphasized the excellence of the friendship and cooperation between Senegal and Ghana, supported by a shared vision of democracy, good governance, and the defense of fundamental rights.
The discussions focused on strengthening economic and commercial cooperation, with the aim of deepening and diversifying exchanges in strategic sectors such as hydrocarbons, defense, security, education, health, and tourism. The two parties also addressed the regional situation, emphasizing the need to consolidate peace and stability in the Sahel and within ECOWAS.
This visit illustrates the common desire to strengthen an already solid partnership, in the service of the development and prosperity of their respective peoples. The Presidency of the Republic is pleased with the prospects opened by this meeting and reaffirms its commitment to pursuing close cooperation with Ghana in the spirit of solidarity and African integration.
