As part of the TICAD 9 Business Expo & Conference, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Senegal conducted an official visit to the Senegal Pavilion on Friday, August 22, accompanied by several ministers, the Director General of APIX SA, and the Director General of FONSIS.
Coordinated by APIX SA, the Pavilion showcased Senegal Vision 2050, the portfolio of strategic projects, and investment opportunities. Alongside APIX, four innovative companies presented their solutions: Carrefour Médical (healthcare), Technologies Services (medical devices), SODER (electrical engineering and telecommunications), and KAI NU DEM (ICT and logistics).
This showcase of Senegal’s private sector attracted significant interest from Japanese investors, particularly in the fields of mobility, transportation, infrastructure, healthcare, energy, and the environment. The presence of major players such as CFAO (Toyota Tsusho) underscored this interest.
The previous day, the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs also visited the Pavilion, reaffirming the importance placed on the bilateral partnership. For several editions of TICAD, Senegal’s participation, led by APIX, has yielded tangible results: the signing of MoUs, Japanese investments, and impactful partnerships.
The presidential visit underscores Senegal’s ambition to position itself as a regional investment hub and to strengthen its strategic cooperation with Japan, a long-standing partner.
