Press releases - 2026 February 05

Early in the afternoon, the President of the Republic continued his economic tour with a visit to the agricultural operations of the Yellitaare Group in Tambacounda, highlighting a development model based on production, local processing, and the creation of sustainable jobs.
This operation embodies an integrated agriculture model encompassing crop farming, livestock, agro-industry, transport, and distribution, and built on a complete value-chain approach, from primary production to market delivery. This model helps strengthen food sovereignty, structure local value chains, and sustainably stabilize rural areas.
With more than 4,100 jobs, a major contribution to the banana sector accounting for over 70 percent of national production, as well as significant agro-processing and logistics capacities, the Yellitaare Group’s operations illustrate the potential of modern agriculture when anchored in productive investment, local expertise, and strong territorial roots.
Through this visit, the Head of State highlights not merely a champion, but a replicable economic model capable of creating value locally, generating decent jobs, and supporting inclusive growth.
