The President of the Republic presided over the first edition of the National Diaspora Day, held under the theme “The Senegalese Diaspora, a Lever for the Country’s Transformation.” This strong initiative marks the official recognition of the central role played by Senegalese citizens abroad in national development.
This day reflects the Head of State’s determination to strengthen the ties between the Nation and its Diaspora, viewed not only as a source of solidarity but, above all, as a strategic partner in development.
Through their work, sacrifices, skills, and investments, Senegalese citizens abroad make a decisive contribution to the country’s economic, social, and technological transformation. Their contribution is fully aligned with the National Transformation Agenda and the #Senegal2050 Vision, which positions the Diaspora as a key stakeholder in public policies and in shaping the future of Senegal.
Through this first edition, the Head of State pays tribute to the Diaspora’s continued commitment and reaffirms his determination to build a borderless national community, united, supportive, and firmly oriented toward the future.
