The President of the Republic received in audience the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, to whom he extended a warm welcome to Senegal.
The discussions were frank and in-depth, making it possible to address all issues related to the recent situation, with no question left aside.
The President of the Republic clearly reaffirmed the principles to which Senegal is committed, notably respect for the rule of law, the requirement for transparency, and the preservation of the integrity of competitions. He also emphasized the need to ensure the credibility of African football, in a context where the continent must stand united and move forward responsibly toward upcoming international events.
In this spirit, Senegal will continue to act with calm, responsibility, and firmness to defend its legitimate interests and honor, while closely monitoring developments in this situation, in full respect of the relevant bodies and the legal avenues of appeal underway.
