The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, accompanied by his delegation, was accorded a ceremonial welcome with full honors on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, at Bayan Palace, during the official reception ceremony hosted by His Highness the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The two Heads of State held extensive talks in an atmosphere marked by solemnity, fraternity, and deep mutual respect. During the exchange, His Highness the Emir recalled with heartfelt emotion the special place that Senegal holds in the hearts of the Kuwaiti people.
President FAYE and the Emir welcomed the excellence of the longstanding fraternal friendship and the trust-based cooperation between Senegal and the State of Kuwait. They agreed to work towards further strengthening these privileged ties by elevating them to a higher strategic level in key areas such as peace and security, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, industry, and food security.
Following this high-level meeting, His Highness the Emir hosted an official banquet in honor of His Excellency the President of the Republic, in celebration of the enduring bonds of fraternal friendship between Kuwait and Senegal.
