At the invitation of His Excellency General Umaro Sissoco Embaló, President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, His Excellency President Bassirou Diomaye Faye participated this Saturday in the celebrations of the 51st anniversary of the independence of this brotherly nation.
This day, coinciding with the centenary of Amílcar Cabral, the founding father of the Bissau-Guinean nation and an iconic figure in the struggle for Africa's liberation from colonial rule, was also dedicated to the Armed Forces, symbols of national sovereignty.
President Faye took this opportunity to acknowledge the depth of fraternal and neighborly relations between Senegal and Guinea-Bissau, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening these special ties for the benefit of both peoples.
