On the sidelines of his participation in the Rencontre des Entrepreneurs de France, the President of the Republic met this morning at the Élysée with President Emmanuel Macron for a working breakfast.
In a cordial atmosphere, the two Heads of State reviewed cooperation programs and discussed strengthening the renewed partnership between Senegal and France, particularly in the areas of investment, trade, defense, and security. This review of cooperation will be on the agenda of the next intergovernmental seminar scheduled for September.
The President of the Republic also commended President Emmanuel Macron’s stance on historical memory issues, notably the recognition of the 1944 Thiaroye massacre of Senegalese soldiers. He invited him to participate in the second edition of the commemoration scheduled for December 1, 2025, in Dakar.
