The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, today officiated the inauguration of the new regional headquarters of the World Bank Group for West and Central Africa in Dakar.
This building, which brings together all the regional components of the Group, embodies the commitment to enhancing the institution’s efficiency and proximity to local realities, placing human development at the heart of its policies.
In his address, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye welcomed the alignment between the new momentum driven by the World Bank Group and Senegal’s Vision 2050, the national strategic framework aimed at building a sovereign, just, and prosperous Senegal.
The Head of State highlighted shared priorities, including agriculture, youth employment, universal access to energy, vocational training, digitalization, and the active promotion of the private sector. He also emphasized the major reforms undertaken by the Senegalese Government to create an environment conducive to investment and the creation of sustainable jobs.
This inauguration reflects Senegal’s steadfast commitment to a strengthened multilateral system, rooted in international solidarity, for the benefit of the Senegalese people and the entire African continent.
