Early in the afternoon, the Head of State chaired the closing ceremony of the German-Senegalese Business Day, which brought together companies from both countries throughout the day. The event resulted in a number of concrete commitments.
These include a €20 million package from KfW to support the green transformation of Senegalese SMEs; a local dialysis equipment manufacturing project with B. Braun, expected to foster technology transfer and create skilled jobs; a training programme with Daimler Trucks to equip young Senegalese with skills for the automotive industry; the establishment of a local electric commercial vehicle value chain; and a €100 million cold-storage programme designed to reduce post-harvest losses and create several thousand jobs.

These agreements will soon be complemented, in the presence of the Minister of Finance, by the signing of a €120 million financing package led by GAUFF and ASER, which will expand access to electricity from 300 to 750 villages.
The Head of State then attended the Africa Business Hub, where he held extensive discussions with executives from several of Germany’s leading companies. He encouraged them to invest in Senegal and presented the foundations of the Senegal Vision 2050 agenda, which aims to mobilize nearly €28 billion in investments over five years across the sectors of energy, infrastructure, agribusiness, healthcare, digital technology, and manufacturing.
The President of the Republic placed particular emphasis on the guarantees now available to investors. The new Investment Code ensures equal treatment for domestic and foreign operators and provides protection against expropriation; tax reforms have established a simplified and predictable framework; and the digitalization of administrative procedures has significantly reduced processing times.
The significance of this afternoon is clear. Senegal offers stability, reforms, and resources, while its German partners bring technology, expertise, and capital. It is through this complementarity that transformative projects emerge projects that ultimately improve the lives of the people.
