The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, participated on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in the opening ceremony of the 5th Plenary Assembly of the Regional Episcopal Conference of West Africa (CERAO), held at the Grand Théâtre in Dakar.
This significant gathering, marked by spiritual communion, fraternity, and dialogue, brought together the highest Catholic religious authorities from the West African region to reflect collectively on the paths toward a synodal Church in service of justice and peace.
In his address, the Head of State commended the Church’s steadfast commitment to promoting harmonious coexistence, strengthening peace, and fostering solidarity within our societies. He also emphasized the essential role of religious values in building a united, resilient, and fraternal Africa.
