International - 2025 June 22

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, left Abuja on Sunday, June 22, 2025, after participating in the proceedings of the 67th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Conference of Heads of State and Government.

This session took place in a regional context marked by major challenges: persistent insecurity in the Sahel, political tensions, economic slowdowns, and threats to regional cohesion.

On this occasion, Senegal, through its high-level presence, reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to a united, stable ECOWAS, focused on the aspirations of its peoples and true to the ideal of African integration.

The presidency of the ECOWAS Conference of Heads of State and Government is now held by His Excellency Mr. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
