
The Head of State, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, received Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in an audience on Friday afternoon.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the ITU and Senegal, particularly within the framework of the Technological New Deal initiated by the President of the Republic. Ms. Bogdan-Martin praised the Head of State’s vision for digital transformation and reaffirmed her institution’s commitment to supporting Senegal in implementing strategic projects.
This collaboration will primarily focus on improving connectivity, cybersecurity, the development of artificial intelligence, reducing the digital divide, and modernizing digital infrastructure, in support of the national digital transformation strategy.

In the same context of presidential audiences, the Head of State also received Mr. Amadou Kane, Director of the Amadou Mahtar Mbow Foundation for Endogenous Knowledge, ahead of the national tribute ceremony dedicated to Professor Amadou Mahtar Mbow, a distinguished statesman and former Director-General of UNESCO.
During this meeting, Mr. Kane presented the objectives and missions of the Foundation, which works to preserve, promote, and transmit African endogenous knowledge, in the spirit of openness, excellence, and intellectual rigor that has always characterized Professor Mbow.
