President Bassirou Diomaye Faye Receives the Director of the IMF African Department.

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, received Mr. Zeine Zeidane, Director of the African Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in audience.

During the meeting, the Director of the African Department expressed the IMF's strong appreciation for the efforts undertaken by Senegal to strengthen transparency and restore sound public financial management.

The discussions revealed a shared commitment to the need and urgency of concluding a program with the International Monetary Fund. Both parties emphasized that such a program should safeguard public investment, create greater scope for private sector-led economic recovery, and strengthen social safety nets for the benefit of the population.
