The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, received this afternoon at the Presidential Palace Mr. Alexander Zalocosta, Chief Financial Officer of Senegal Minergy Port (SMP).
The company is responsible for the development of the Bargny-Sendou port, a strategic infrastructure located about twenty kilometers south of Dakar.
During the meeting, Mr. Zalocosta provided the Head of State with a detailed update on the progress of the works. The delivery of this port platform, intended to become one of West Africa’s leading hubs for solid and liquid bulk cargo (minerals, phosphates, cereals, hydrocarbons, etc.), is scheduled for the end of the current year.
This project, which aims to ease congestion at the Port of Dakar and strengthen Senegal’s logistical capacities in the energy and mining sectors, falls within the national priorities for the development of maritime infrastructure and economic sovereignty.
