The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, received this afternoon at the Palace of the Republic the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Takeshi Iwaya, who brought an invitation from the Japanese Prime Minister to the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), scheduled for next August in Yokohama. Mr. Iwaya discussed with the Head of State the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Senegal and Japan.
Furthermore, the President of the Republic also granted an audience to a delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF), led by the First Vice-President of the National Assembly of Cameroon, the Honorable Hilarion Etong, as part of the APF's visit to Dakar, where it is holding the proceedings of its Political Commission.
