The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, chaired the Senegal–Spain Economic Forum in Madrid, bringing together public authorities and private sector stakeholders from both countries.
Economic exchanges are experiencing remarkable momentum, marked by a historic performance: Senegalese exports to Spain have reached 388 billion CFA francs (€591 million), compared to 154 billion CFA francs in 2024, representing an increase of 152%. At the same time, imports stand at 315 billion CFA francs (€480 million), resulting for the first time in a trade surplus in Senegal’s favor, with a surplus of 73 billion CFA francs (€111 million).
Building on these concrete results, the President of the Republic highlighted Senegal as an attractive, reformed, and investment-friendly destination, offering strong opportunities in key sectors.
Through this forum, the Head of State is demonstrating committed economic leadership focused on value creation, job generation, and positioning Senegal as a strategic partner and a gateway to the African market.
