The President of the Republic, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Presidential Palace, received a delegation from the 32nd Africa Regional Assembly of the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie, led by the President of the National Assembly, Mr. El Malick Ndiaye.
Meeting in Dakar from May 18 to 20, the presidents of parliamentary chambers from Francophone Africa briefed the Head of State on the substance of their proceedings. Discussions also addressed the crises affecting the continent as well as the situation in the Middle East, reflecting a form of parliamentary diplomacy attentive to global balances.
On behalf of the delegation, His Excellency Hilarion Etong Ndzong, President of the APF Africa Region, commended Senegal’s commitment and the arrangements made to ensure the success of these meetings.
By hosting these proceedings, Senegal reaffirms its commitment to interparliamentary cooperation that places stability, sovereignty, and regional integration at the heart of the shared concerns of nations united by the French language.
