During his visit to the Kaolack region, the President of the Republic took the opportunity to invite the territorial executives from the central regions, mayors, and presidents of departmental councils to a meeting focused on the Centre Territory Hub project.
The session began with a presentation by the Minister of Urban Planning, Local Governments, and Territorial Development. He shared the government's vision to transform the central hub into the country's economic engine through structured programs and projects aimed at stimulating agriculture, local industry, and infrastructure.
In his speech, the head of state emphasized the importance of the active participation of local governments, which will play a major role in achieving this ambition. He highlighted the need to strengthen the financial and technical capacities of municipalities and departments to establish inclusive and sustainable development.
The elected officials from Kaolack, Fatick, and Kaffrine unanimously praised this participatory approach. They expressed their determination to work alongside the State to make the central hub a model of integrated development.
In their speeches, they also presented several requests while proposing concrete contributions to improve access to water, electricity, health, and education in their respective communities. The President of the Republic reassured the audience of the State's commitment to addressing these priority needs, emphasizing that the successful implementation of the Centre Territory Hub program could serve as a model for Senegal and beyond. At the end of this meeting, marked by a shared commitment to building a better future for the population, local actors and the national executive reiterated their dedication to working hand in hand.
