Peace in Casamance: The Head of State Engages in Talks with Stakeholders in Ziguinchor.

The Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, received in Ziguinchor the stakeholders involved in the Casamance peace process. The meeting brought together, in particular, the Reflection and Action Group for Peace, the Women’s Platform for Peace, as well as the Collective of Civil Society Organizations.

On this occasion, the various entities shared with the President of the Republic their analyses, field experiences, and the actions undertaken in support of the establishment of lasting peace in the southern part of the country. They also welcomed the progress achieved in the implementation of the Diomaye Plan for Casamance, viewed as a structuring framework for the region’s stabilization and sustainable development.

With humility and determination, the Head of State reaffirmed his firm commitment to consolidating lasting peace in Casamance, grounded in attentive listening, inclusive dialogue, and respect for local dynamics. Aware that this endeavor requires a concerted and sustained approach, he called on all stakeholders to pool their initiatives, combine their efforts, and strengthen coordination in order to enhance their effectiveness and impact.

This meeting forms part of a dynamic of trust and shared responsibility, reflecting the State’s unwavering commitment to supporting, with consistency and method, all genuine initiatives in favor of peace, social cohesion, and the harmonious development of Casamance.
