On Thursday, October 16, 2025, the Doudou Ndiaye Coumba Rose Grand National Theatre in Dakar will host the official opening of the first National Forum on Books and Reading (FNLL), under the theme: “Education through books for enlightened sovereignty.”
Held under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, this initiative reflects the commitment of public authorities to make books a cornerstone of the country’s intellectual, social, and cultural development.
Sponsored by the eminent writer Cheikh Hamidou Kane, the Forum aligns with the Senegal 2050 Vision, which positions culture as a strategic lever to foster responsible civic behavior and promote sustainable national development.
