The President of the Republic officially launched the development and paving project for the Sandiniéry–Tanaff–Guinea-Bissau border road, covering a total length of 26 kilometers.
This strategic infrastructure will significantly contribute to opening up the interior of the country, strengthening trade with Guinea-Bissau, and stimulating the local economy.
It responds to a long-standing demand from local populations by improving the mobility of people and goods, road safety, and access to social and economic services.
The Head of State welcomed the project’s direct impact on the living conditions of communities along the route, stressing that road infrastructure is a key driver of development, territorial cohesion, and sub-regional integration.
On this occasion, the President of the Republic also announced his intention to pay a visit to Kolda in the near future, in response to requests from the populations of that region.
He recalled that the Diomaye Plan for Casamance covers the entire natural Casamance area, within a comprehensive, inclusive, and balanced approach to territorial development.
Through this project, the State reaffirms its determination to implement structuring, useful, and sustainable initiatives in the service of territories and the well-being of the population.
