As part of his commitment to participatory governance and collective accountability of Senegal’s institutional and electoral framework, His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, President of the Republic of Senegal, has announced the holding of the National Dialogue on the Political System, scheduled from May 28 to June 4, 2025. This major event aims to bring together the nation’s key stakeholders to engage in collective reflection on the reforms needed to strengthen Senegalese democracy and respond to the deep aspirations of the people.
Organized around the theme of the political system, this dialogue seeks to lay the foundations for a modern institutional model rooted in Senegal’s cultural, social, and historical realities. It is part of an inclusive approach, bringing together representatives from political parties, civil society, trade unions, religious communities, the private sector, as well as experts and engaged citizens.
This dialogue, which enjoys the support of a broad segment of the political class and the nation’s key stakeholders, is intended to be a decisive moment to achieve robust consensus aimed at sustainably strengthening Senegalese democracy and fully guaranteeing the exercise of fundamental rights and freedoms.
