Following his meeting with Ms. Sara Zaafarani, Prime Minister of Tunisia, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, held a productive discussion with the Prime Minister of Japan, His Excellency Shigeru Ishiba.
The two leaders emphasized the excellence of relations between Senegal and Japan, built on exemplary bilateral cooperation, historical ties, and shared values such as peace, democracy, respect for the rule of law, and international law.
President Faye called for strengthened cooperation in strategic areas such as education, health, water management, fisheries, and peace and security. He particularly stressed education as a key pillar of development, noting that Japan’s success demonstrates that the quality of human resources is the cornerstone of progress.
In this context, an agreement will be signed for the construction of an annex to the Senegal-Japan Vocational and Technical Training Center (CFPT-SJ) in Diamniadio, with additional agreements to follow in the coming days. This meeting opened new prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation, paving the way for an even stronger and more fruitful partnership.
