As the Grand Magal of Touba approaches, scheduled for Wednesday, August 13, 2025, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs. Absa Faye, and a large delegation, visited the holy city of Touba this afternoon for a courtesy call on the General Khalife of the Mourides, Serigne Mountakha Mbacké.
This visit allowed the Head of State to reaffirm the instructions given to the government to ensure the smooth organization of this edition of the Magal. He also sought the prayers and blessings of the Khalife for the success of the projects he aims to undertake for Senegal, particularly in Touba, in the sectors of water management, sanitation, education, and basic infrastructure.
Through his spokesperson, Serigne Bassirou Mbacké Abdou Khadre, the General Khalife expressed his affection for the President of the Republic, commending his spiritual and patriotic commitment. "From the moment I saw you, heard you, and noted your devotion to Tawhid, I understood your sincere desire to serve the country," he stated. The Khalife also assured the Head of State of his support and offered his prayers for the success of his initiatives.
