Legislative Elections: President Bassirou Diomaye Faye Fulfills His Civic Duty in Ndiaganiao and Commends the Organization of the Election

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, accompanied by the First Lady, traveled to his hometown of Ndiaganiao, 102 km from the capital Dakar, where he voted early this Sunday for the 2024 snap legislative elections.

This election aims to elect the 165 deputies who will sit in the National Assembly of Senegal for a five-year term.

Shortly after fulfilling his civic duty, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye assured that "the government has deployed all necessary means to ensure the proper organization of the election, respecting the rights of each candidate."

The Head of State then congratulated the Senegalese people who are "coming out and exercising their right to choose their future representatives in calm and serenity, in the pure Senegalese tradition."

In his speech, he also called on the political class, urging them to "show serenity, prioritize peace, and accept the popular will that will be expressed through the ballot box."
