
As part of his tour of the Kédougou region, the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited the Saraya Department to meet with the Defence and Security Forces deployed in the area.
Through this visit, the Head of State sought to encourage the personnel, express the Nation’s support, and renew the State’s commitment to providing them wherever they are deployed across the national territory with the best possible working and living conditions.
Welcomed by the highest authorities of the National Gendarmerie, the President received a briefing on the local security situation, as well as on the infrastructural and operational measures implemented under the national security strategy. This strategy is an essential prerequisite for sustainable development, as it ensures territorial stability and the protection of populations.
The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces urged the Defence and Security Forces to maintain a high level of vigilance, adopt a proactive posture, and strengthen cooperation with local communities, in a spirit of trust and proximity.
Through this visit, the President of the Republic reaffirms his strong conviction that security is inseparable from development, and that the effective, respected, and well-supported presence of the Defence and Security Forces remains a pillar of national sovereignty and social cohesion.
