At the invitation of the mayor of Thiès, the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, is expected on December 12, 2024, in the railway capital to inaugurate the statue of Lat Dior.
On-site, the President will unveil this bronze work depicting the national hero on his horse “Malaw,” erected between Agora Square and the Auditorium.
This ceremony will pay tribute to Lat Dior Ngoné Latyr Diop, a symbol of resistance against French colonization.
