In Sindone, the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, laid the foundation stone this morning for the Nation–Army High School for Quality and Equity (LYNAQE) in Ziguinchor, on a 10-hectare site.

This flagship project of the Ministry of National Education is part of the national policy aimed at modernizing the education system and promoting equity. It seeks to provide students with a learning environment of excellence, grounded in rigor, discipline, high pedagogical standards, and equal opportunities, while bringing quality education closer to local communities.

Designed as a modern and integrated school campus, the LYNAQE in Ziguinchor will include two-storey academic blocks, an administrative building, a digital library, separate boarding facilities for girls and boys, a cafeteria, an infirmary, an amphitheater, multisport courts, a regulation football pitch, an athletics track, administrative housing, parking areas, as well as support infrastructure such as a mini solar power plant, a water tower, and a small educational farm.

Fully funded by the State of Senegal, with the support of external resources, the overall cost of the project—including construction and equipment is estimated at CFA 10.1 billion.

Through this center of excellence, the Head of State reaffirms his commitment to making education a central pillar of Senegal Vision 2050, by investing sustainably in human capital, reducing territorial disparities, and providing the youth of Ziguinchor with the conditions necessary for academic success and personal development to build the Senegal of tomorrow.
