Press releases - 2024 November 26

On Friday, November 29, 2024, His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar FAYE, President of the Republic, will preside over an official ceremony at the Presidential Palace to honor ten exemplary compatriots as part of the monthly cleanliness days "Setal Sunu Réew." These citizens, recognized as models of commitment for a clean and sustainable Senegal, will receive the distinction of "Jambaar ci Setal Sunu Réew."

This recognition aligns with the Head of State's desire to celebrate civic involvement in public cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental protection, as well as the promotion of a national culture of community engagement. These awardees, selected for their impactful actions, embody the power of individual and collective initiatives that transform daily life.

The event also aims to inspire more Senegalese to join this movement for preserving our living environment. Since its launch on June 1, 2024, the "Setal Sunu Réew" initiative has mobilized thousands of citizens across the country each month, working to clean public spaces and improve urban sanitation. Through this ceremony, the President of the Republic calls for a lasting coalition between citizens, local associations, and institutions to make cleanliness a national priority and sustain this momentum over time.
