The President of the Republic received in the evening a delegation from the Union of Local Elected Officials’ Associations, accompanied by the Minister of Urban Planning, Local Authorities and Territorial Development, Moussa Balla Fofana.
The meeting focused on decentralization, not merely as an administrative transfer of powers, but as a way of governing closer to the people who live and work in local communities. Representatives of municipalities and departments welcomed a reform carried out through consultation and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting its implementation alongside the State.
From this shared vision emerges a common conviction: Senegal is also built through its local authorities, where public action meets the everyday realities of the population.
