As Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games draw closer, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, received in audience this morning the Mayor of Yeumbeul Sud, Mr. Bara Gaye, who presented the Planetary Village project, to be established in Yeumbeul during the Games.
Officially endorsed by the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee, the project aims to transform the village into a lasting platform where young people can come together through sport, culture, education through sport, and a long-term local legacy.
The Head of State took note of the project's requirements and the modalities for government support to ensure the successful delivery of the infrastructure and its lasting benefits for local communities beyond the Games. He commended the initiative as a reflection of the Government's commitment to bringing the Youth Olympic Games closer to every part of Senegal.
