The President of the Republic, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, chaired the Presidential Council for the monitoring of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
This high-level meeting provided an exhaustive review of the state of preparations, strengthened coordination among all stakeholders, and set out clear strategic guidelines to accelerate ongoing projects, enhance national mobilization, and ensure compliance with the commitments made to the International Olympic Committee.
With ten months to go before the Games, the Head of State defined clear priorities with firm deadlines, reaffirming the requirements of rigor, anticipation, and efficiency in order to deliver an organization worthy of the confidence placed in Senegal and in Africa, as these will be the first Youth Olympic Games ever held on the continent.
