The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, received on Tuesday a delegation from the Conseil de l’Ordre des architectes du Sénégal, led by its President, Massamba Lamsar Diop.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the mission of the Order, which aims to restore the rightful place of the architectural profession in the design and development of the living environment. Discussions also addressed the challenges facing the construction ecosystem in Senegal, particularly the limited presence of architects within the public administration, even though the profession currently counts 282 registered members in the Order.
The Council of the Order reaffirmed its willingness to work in synergy with all stakeholders involved in shaping the living environment and to contribute alongside the support of the State to improving the quality of architecture and territorial planning.
