The President of the Republic received this afternoon, at the Presidential Palace, a delegation of leaders of the Catholic Church of Senegal, led by the Episcopal Conference.
The bishops expressed to the Head of State their gratitude for the support provided to ensure the success of the Marian pilgrimage of Notre-Dame de la Délivrande of Popenguine, a major moment in the spiritual life of the Senegalese Catholic community.
The delegation also presented the President with a written contribution to the NITHÉ program the New Initiative for the Humanistic Transformation of Education reflecting the Church’s commitment to contributing its insight and experience to this far-reaching reform. The religious leaders also shared the concerns of the Catholic community.
This audience confirms the quality of dialogue between public authorities and religious communities, a cornerstone of the national cohesion and harmony that make Senegal unique.
