At the United Nations General Assembly, the President of the Republic participated in the high-level meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the World Conference on Women (Beijing+30). In a powerful statement, the Head of State reaffirmed Senegal’s steadfast commitment to advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. He called on the international community for a collective awakening, emphasizing that:
- Equality is a universal and moral imperative,
- No society can develop by leaving its women and girls behind,
- The fight against violence and discrimination is an ongoing struggle that involves states, citizens, and leaders. Through the Senegal 2050 Vision, the President highlighted that women and youth are at the heart of the nation’s societal project, serving as pillars of stability and drivers of sustainable prosperity. “Let us prepare future generations to live in a more just, equitable, and harmonious world,” he concluded.
