As part of National Dialogue Day, an annual fixture on the Republic’s agenda, the President of the Republic, H.E. Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, received this morning at the Presidential Palace Mr. Amadou Kane and Mr. Abdoulaye Daouda Diallo, former Ministers of Finance.
The discussions, both in-depth and candid, focused on the country’s financial situation in a global context whose demands are well understood. Mr. Amadou Kane, whose career extends well beyond the Ministry of Finance to a deep understanding of the banking ecosystem, outlined the levers that Senegal could mobilize in this area to address current challenges. Mr. Abdoulaye Daouda Diallo, drawing on his experience in Finance and Budget, emphasized the importance of relations with international financial institutions and their strategic role in global financial balances.
Both men welcomed the approach of the Head of State and, with generosity and a clear sense of the national interest, shared their analyses in support of the ongoing reflection. At the end of their audience, they expressed confidence in Senegal’s ability to meet current challenges, recalling that this task calls for all the country’s forces to combine their efforts.
The consultations will continue in the afternoon, in the same spirit of attentive listening and republican dialogue.
