African Union: Opening of the 38th Summit in Addis Ababa.

The proceedings of the 38th ordinary session of the African Union summit began this Saturday in Addis Ababa, with the participation of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

This opening ceremony was an opportunity for the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, to deliver his first speech before his African counterparts. He paid tribute to the founding fathers of the AU and reaffirmed Senegal's determination to work for a more sovereign, united, and prosperous Africa.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of strengthening collective efforts in facing the continent's challenges, notably the reform of multilateralism, the fight against economic inequalities and climate change, as well as the development of an autonomous and inclusive growth model.

The President reiterated Senegal's willingness to work alongside its African partners to advance just causes, build equitable partnerships, and enhance the continent's wealth. He finally called for greater involvement of youth and women in the process of Africa's transformation.
