ADSW 2026: President Bassirou Diomaye Faye Holds Talks with the President of the United Arab Emirates.

As part of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2026, held from 11 to 15 January under the theme “The Nexus of the Future: Global Mobilization,” the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, held talks on Thursday, 15 January 2026, with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.

The meeting took place in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, as well as His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to His Highness the President of the United Arab Emirates. Several Emirati ministers and senior officials also attended the discussions.

The talks focused on the various areas of bilateral cooperation and the prospects for strengthened collaboration between the two countries. Discussions emphasized economic and trade cooperation, renewable energy, environmental sustainability, infrastructure, and other strategic sectors aligned with the respective development priorities and mutual interests of both nations, for the benefit of their populations.

Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to consolidating the strong and longstanding relations that have united the United Arab Emirates and Senegal for several decades. They expressed their common desire to further expand development partnerships in order to promote sustainable, inclusive, and resilient economic growth.

This meeting took place in a context in which the two countries share a convergent vision on climate issues and the energy transition, as reflected in President Faye’s active participation in the proceedings of ADSW 2026, a leading global platform for action in support of sustainability.

The parties underscored their determination to open new avenues for constructive cooperation, in line with the shared aspirations of both peoples for progress, prosperity, and shared development.
