The federal capital of Nigeria, Abuja, hosted the 66th Ordinary Session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) this Sunday.
This important meeting, marked by the presence of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, brought together the leaders of the member countries to address the major challenges facing the region, particularly political, security, and economic issues.
On this occasion, the organization congratulated President Faye for the peaceful and transparent conduct of the legislative elections, demonstrating the democratic maturity of the Senegalese people.
In the face of security, socio-economic, and political challenges impacting regional integration, ECOWAS is committed to reforming to address these issues.
Furthermore, President Faye was warmly congratulated for his mediation efforts between ECOWAS and the AES countries. The Conference renewed its confidence in him, and he will soon travel to these countries to continue diplomatic dialogue for their reintegration.
