4th International Conference on Financing for Development: President Bassirou Diomaye Faye strengthens bilateral partnerships.

On the sidelines of the plenary session of the Conference on Financing for Development, the President of the Republic, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, held important bilateral meetings with several leaders of Senegal’s partner countries.




With His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain, discussions focused on strengthening multifaceted cooperation, particularly in the areas of agriculture, tourism, and the joint management of migration issues. Both heads of state reaffirmed their commitment to promoting legal, circular migration that respects human dignity.



With the President of Estonia, Mr. Alar Karis, the talks resulted in an agreement to expand the legal framework for cooperation between the two countries. The aim is to explore new avenues, particularly in the digital sector, where Estonia has globally recognized expertise. President Karis also sought Senegal’s support for his country’s candidacy for the United Nations Security Council.


With Mr. Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank Group, the Head of State received praise for Senegal’s efforts in transparency and good governance. The World Bank, alongside the IMF and the IFC, committed to supporting this new dynamic through assistance to the private sector and the implementation of a budget support program.

Under the leadership of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Senegal is thus strengthening its economic diplomacy and international positioning in favor of sustainable and sovereign development.
