38th AU Summit: President Faye strengthens cooperation with Kenya and Angola and advocates for healthcare funding.

During the 38th African Union Summit, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye took the opportunity to engage in fruitful bilateral discussions with prominent African leaders. His meetings with H.E. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, and H.E. João Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola, strengthened cooperation and addressed common development challenges.



In addition to these meetings, the Head of State actively participated in a high-level meeting on health financing through domestic resources, alongside his Rwandan counterpart, H.E. Paul Kagame, and several renowned experts in the field. During this meeting, President Faye fervently advocated for:
Increased funding for health systems through mobilizing internal resources.
Commitment from states to adhere to the Abuja Declaration, which aims to allocate 15% of budgets to health.
Strengthening the role of the private sector and local authorities in health financing.
Transparent and effective governance of health resources.
Senegal, true to its vision of inclusive and sovereign development, reaffirms its commitment to building a resilient and equitable health system that ensures universal access to quality care for all.
