The Senegal in the World

Senegal is a very dynamic country on the international stage. It has been entrusted with various responsibilities within ECOWAS, the Organization of the Islamic Conference as well as within la Francophonie ... and most recently, at the UN Security Council.
The duties it performs for the African Union through NEPAD (New Partnership for the Economic Development of Africa) have led it to represent the continent in various UE-Africa, China-Africa or India-Africa Summits, as well as to the G7 and G20 summits.

In addition, President Macky Sall is actively engaged in ensuring stability of the West-African sub-region (in Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau and elsewhere).

In 2015, Senegal was elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for a two-year term.
